some children give us flowers,
brunch, or a bracelet
a gift, perfume, or a sweet card
some visit, or call, or print words on social media
most will find a way to let mothers know they are loved…
but there are a few who leave mothers with memories, photos, sweet recollections of our time together in this life
to those mothers, i send love today
and i send this opening rose, a gift from my own absent child; which brings with it memories of springs past, and the hope that is in his healing and perfection everlasting
